We are very excited to start off the New Year with a bang! We have sold out the debut show, Orlando Harold Night, and we have so many new programs rolling out that we needed to put it in a blog! All of our performances will be held at the Winter Park Community Center, 721 W. New England Avenue
Winter Park, Florida 32789.
ORLANDO HAROLD NIGHT (Saturday, January 10, 2015 at 8 pm, then monthly)
Join us for a night dedicated to an improv classic: The Harold! This long form improvisation piece was developed in Chicago by the late legendary improv guru Del Close with Charna Halpern (ImprovOlympic, now iO), and uses a single audience suggestion to inspire a completely made up show from start to finish. Cost: $5
IMPROV OFF THE GRID (Saturday, January 31, 2015 at 8 pm, then monthly)
AdLib Theatre features it’s all female house team, Keep It Broad, while welcoming our improv community! That’s right, it’s indie night at AdLib! We invite independent improv groups from the BROADer Orlando area to perform on AdLib’s stage. The night starts with Keep It Broad performing The Armanda, where an audience suggestion inspires personal stories and monologues and a completely made up performance. They may not always be ladies, but they are all women! Cost: $5
IMPROV FUSION (Friday, February 20, 2015 at 8 pm then monthly)
It’s time to smash things up! The ensemble cast of AdLib Theatre will be inspired by special guests that can range from zany magicians to stand up comedians to even live musical performances. Every show is made up from start to finish, and no two shows are ever the same. Cost: $5
INCUBATOR PROGRAM (Wednesday February 4, 2015 at 7:30 pm, then every six weeks)
It’s time for the students to shine! Current students of improv programs around Central Florida have an opportunity to create their own teams and improv forms while showing off their skills on AdLib’s stage! It’s a great time to support these up and comers, so come on out and enjoy a night of fun! Cost: $5
IMPROV MIXER (Wednesday February 11, 2015 at 7 pm, then every six weeks)
This program was designed to bring the community together and give everyone an opportunity to perform regardless of experience. Together the performers engage in a lively group warm up followed by mixing “teams” that perform a montage set at AdLib Theatre’s training center. It’s a great night to meet new players, learn new skills, and perform! Suggested Donation of $5.
