ADLIB THEATRE DEBUTS ORLANDO HAROLD NIGHT JANUARY 10, 2015

December 20, 2014

AdLib Theatre is excited to debut Orlando Harold Night on Saturday, January 10, 2015 at 8 pm.  The first Harold of it’s kind in Orlando, The Harold is a long form improvisation comedy piece developed in Chicago by the late legendary improv guru Del Close.  To kick off this debut show, AdLib Theatre welcomes special guest Paul Vaillancourt, co-founder of iO West, on stage to perform with the AdLib Theatre Troupe.  For over 20 years, Paul has taught and performed improv all over the country, has appeared as an actor on shows such as “The Drew Carey Show,” and co-created the MTV hit “The Blame Game.”

AdLib Theatre founder Lauren Morris says, “I’m excited about this opportunity to expand the improv community’s voice within Orlando’s thriving and vibrant arts community.  I can’t think of anyone better than Paul to help us kick this off!”

This is the first of many big things for AdLib Theatre.  In addition to monthly Orlando Harold Night, AdLib Theatre presents monthly improv mixers for the Orlando improv community, and has another house team – a female troupe appropriately named Keep It Broad – that currently performs at Stardust Coffee and Video one Saturday a month.  Starting in 2015, a long form improv training program will be offered to the public. Morris adds “AdLib Theatre was created to grow and foster the improv comedy scene in Orlando and give performers a chance to find success on stage.”
